/ ✨ Expo as the Framework. It’s no secret: @expo.dev is the best way to develop c̶r̶o̶s̶s̶̵-̵p̶l̶a̶t̶f̶o̶r̶m̶ apps. But choosing it to exclusively build a website might seem like an odd choice. Yep, I wanted to showcase the animations on a website built with Expo. I would make the same choice again, hands down 🙌
/ ⚡️ Supabase as the Database. Choosing @supabase.com feels like a no-brainer today. Having used it previously for my course, I can’t think of another database solution that offers as much value. I built the schema with Drizzle ORM, and @rphlmr.com profile was an amazing resource!
/ 😌 Hosting on Vercel (but...) Demos is hosted on @vercel.com, which is absolutely worth the price for me. Vercel is fantastic, but Expo recently announced EAS Hosting, and I'm really excited about it. Most likely, I’ll move Demos to EAS Hosting in the future. 👀
/ 🧑💻 Hosting code on GitHub. It might seem obvious, but on Patreon, I was stuck sharing animation code as zipped files for years. All animations are hosted on a @github.com organization and the APIs work like a charm, with no rate limitations (which I might have encountered using a private repo)
/ That’s it! These are the main choices, though there are many more. I’ve gone into more detail in this article, and I’ll likely update it over time 👇
