Congratulations on a great release! π Can someone help me get context on these changes? github.com/facebook/rea... github.com/facebook/rea... I can't find anything JSI related in the changelog π and they seem like new introductions related to ABI stability if I'm not mistaken π€
Android 16 Support: React Native 0.81 now targets Android 16 (API level 36) by default, enabling edge-to-edge app display by default. We're also deprecating <SafeAreaView> in favor of more flexible alternatives for better edge-to-edge support across platforms. github.com/react-native...
Community-Maintained JavaScriptCore: The JavaScriptCore (JSC) engine has moved to a community-maintained package. If your app relies on JSC, you'll need to use this separate package to upgrade to 0.81. This doesn't affect apps using Hermes! github.com/react-native...
Experimental Precompiled iOS Builds: we've introduced experimental precompiled iOS builds that can cut compile times by up to 10x! This is a major step towards even faster development. This feature has been developed together with Expo. Read more about it here: expo.dev/blog/precomp...
Breaking Changes: Heads up! React Native 0.81 now requires Node.js 20.19.4+ and Xcode 16.1+. We've also improved uncaught JavaScript error reporting in DevTools for easier debugging. Check the full changelog for all breaking changes: github.com/facebook/rea...
