i don't think everyone needs to like every film but the way people refuse to even take the transformers series seriously in any capacity feels so performative in a way no other series has ever been treated, very odd to me

let me be clear: this is a joke post do not tell me about transformers i am not an american 6 year old in 1985

anyone trying to talk to me about how much better real transformers is than the michael bay movies (which i haven't seen) sounds like this to me. I'm happy you have your thing but we live in very different worlds

watch the michael bay movies they're brilliant they're tainted with hyperconservativisim in the same way mold is used when making blue cheese. going into it knowing "this is gonna be propaganda" makes it infinitely more enjoyable

For what it's worth, when I was 4 the idea of transformers sounded really cool to me, but I didn't get to watch it in theaters. I vividly remember watching it after my dad recorded it onto a vhs tape, and being so fucking bored I stopped paying attention before I was even a third of the movie in.

the Bayformers films have historically held no appeal for me but as someone who was an american 6-year-old in the early '90s i have to admit to a morbid curiosity for the next one for no better reason than they're doing goddamn Unicron this time like, for reals, front and center

they never made a Unicron toy so i tried to make my own out of construction paper i was ambitious as fuck; it was gonna *transform* (and for the record, i'd had success with homemade papercraft Voltrons and Enterprise-Ds) never did pull it off though i did make an arm or two
