Async Rust is so bad that even reading the chapter in rustbook feels like a chore. The book compensates it by importing a small crate that abstracts away tokio and all the machineries. It's super hard to go from preemptive concurrency of Go to the same old colored future based cooperative conc.

I don't know, but you _might_ enjoy gc-arena: it's more about GC than async, but it's implemented as a pre-empting system that produces what I think is similar to Go's asynchrony. Of course it is much more verbose than Go itself would be - maybe Rust coroutines might eventually help with that?

My issue isn't even with verbosity. I like sync rust tbh with all the verbosity. Async rust looks like an alien language and the types become super hard to read. Also it's hard to write correct program in async rust. Blocking the executor loop is super easy.
