Thanks for the advice I am certain that one party having full control of Govt is not the best for Democracy. Usually midterm elections tend to go against the President’s party. i wait patiently on March 14th, for your sake, I hope that full control is not just an aberration.

As of October 2024, there were about 1.3 million households and 1.8 million individual workers in the top 1% of the United States holding ~23% of the wealth. Would that be the 6700 IRS be the ones who are responsible for keeping them honest?

I guess the point I was trying to make, and it's a point seemingly ignored by the media, is that *even if* you agree with cuts like this, there is a procedure to follow to get it right. This is important, making ANY changes like this is overtly dangerous. Everything else is a straw man argument.

I do not get this. You still have to pay taxes. Firing IRS agents just makes it more annoying to do it. When you go to the grocery store, and there are only two registers open with huge lines, do you say they should fire one of the clerks? No! You still have to shop, you're just making it worse.

Exactly. Not paying taxes, not buying goods, not contributing to the economy. The one thing that boggles my mind is that they don’t seem to understand that working people spend their money and support the economy, rich people don’t.

Just firing the workers who audit those who are worth a billion or more. This has very little impact on most Americans.
