There are two connected reasons why #Trump installed a Caligula council of every unqualified kook, crackpot, and idiot into every office and cabinet position of the American government. The first comes via Steve #Bannon, the Leninist political philosophy of bringing about

the total destruction of western society in order to establish a new world order. For Trump this becomes an autocratic world of oligarchs, graft, and plunder, the Putin model, even if Bannon is employing Straussian deception over his useful idiot to achieve other goals.

The second reason for stacking every post with nutcases is because intelligent, qualified, rational people cannot be trusted to resist criminality. They may go so far and then reach a threshold when they have a John Dean come-to-Jesus moment.
