since runner shells don't sweat, are cooled by water, and *may* breathe as a form of air-cooling -- although we never hear this in action -- i think that a shell would be icy cool to the touch under normal conditions as low-work as walking

an overheated shell does not boil water it touches, however, which suggests an interesting design oversight by bungie or perhaps something about the actual heat limit of a shell. or it could be that water on tau ceti is high salinity
