I ordered the A6144(M) fridge magnet and sticker set from @ukroadstransport.bsky.social and it arrived today! It marks 20 years since the end of the UK’s only fully single carriageway motorway. And since I have a special connection to that road I thought I’d share some pictures… 🧵

First of all… the set is really cool and I would absolutely recommend it - the key ring will be going on to my house keys shortly 🙌🏻

When the A6144(M) lost motorway status in 2006, I went and salvaged some of the old signs (with permission!), so I am delighted to be able to demonstrate the accuracy of the stickers and fridge magnet in this set by comparing with the real thing 🔍

My next plan was to stick the magnet to the sign, but unfortunately the sign is aluminium so magnets don’t stick to it. I had to use sellotape to finally bring the two together. But the effect was worth it!
