In this spirit, the DMA must be extended to social media. The European social media industry has been asking for this for the longest time. We know that we can take this market by storm if it is ever opened up to competition and freedom of movement.

Europe has made a sovereign choice: digital markets should be fair and contestable. 🇪🇺 Enforcing the Digital Markets Act means protecting that level playing field and creating the conditions for more companies to grow, innovate and compete in Europe.

What do you mean? The DMA already applies to social media: Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn have been designated as gatekeeping services. Or do you mean that the interoperability requirements for messenging services (NI-ICS) should be extended to social networks?

Sorry, that's what I thought I had written: the DMA *interop reqs* etc. Without targeting the chokepoint, nothing matters.
