I DON'T believe AI is an existential threat.. though damage to our economy and culture will be irreparable. I DO believe AI (or SI, ffs) + US Dept. of War is an existential threat, that the world is aware of, but Americans don't see coming. (Distracted as they are by the price of gas?)
