i wanted to make a thread about theuderic haas, aka thierry, my inquisitor who made me really fall in love with DAI he was an assassin from the Anderfels originally sent to the Conclave in Ferelden as a spy for King Wilhelm Augustin, who was concerned about the outcome

his father was a grey warden who disappeared under mysterious circumstances, which to make a long story short, led thierry to hound the local outpost for answers. theyd received a letter from his father implying that there was trouble with the crown, so thierry left home at 18 to head to the capital

political mess aside this does end with thierry conscripted and spared execution because the hand (did we know that the king had his own dark brotherhood btw) saw potential in him. so they took a willful young man and shaped his anger into a weapon they could point in the name of the king

he spends 10 years service to the king, acting as one of his many hands of salvation. an assassin sends a message after all. so when the conclave happens, augustin who is very invested in the state of the chantry, sends a small convoy to the south. thierry is amongst them as a failsafe
