I'm nonbinary. I applied for a Gender Recognition Certificate. My application was granted, but I've had to sue the UK to try to get it issued. I've spent about £100k out of pocket already. I'm expecting another £100k in costs for my appeal, which is being heard next week. rya.nc/k7

That doesn't include the government's costs or the funds I've raised. Probably about £500,000 total on the line. We were not expecting Kemi Badenoch to take a personal interest in fucking me over when this started.

500,000 seems unreasonable. You said you've been recognized as non binary in America, you have documents and birth certificate that reflect that from America, why isn't that enough? Do you need that recognition from the UK government for your work or other legal stuff or is it just for you?

Folks tried to get lawmakers to do the right thing. They just wanted to keep kicking the can. Someone needed to fill the can with cement. Might as well be me.

While this might not be the most important issue right now, this is one that has a clear path to being won, and any win would make the next one a little easier.
