Years ago, a friend from college invited a bunch of people to his new big boy house to hang out and crash for the weekend. One guys showed up with his new wife (who'd been invited) and their dog. He politely told them the dog wasn't invited and they were not just surprised but insulted.

This was like 20 years ago, and was my introduction to Dog Parents. Didn't get it then, don't get it now. And I love dogs! But I get that they're a) animals, and b) not for everyone.
