Video Game OSTober Day 1: Favorite title theme The Monkey Island theme by Michael Land, in particular the Curse of Monkey Island version, has been my ringtone since as long as I've had a phone that could play mp3s. www.youtube.com/watch?v=z8jc...

Video Game OSTober Day 2: Favorite first level theme The town themes in Final Fantasy IX are all gorgeous. Vivi's theme at the beginning of game is adorable and sets the tone for the game's whimsical opening really well. www.youtube.com/watch?v=DQev...

Video Game OSTober Day 3: Favorite regular battle theme Blinded by Light from Final Fantasy XIII is practically unbeatable. What a gorgeous, soaring epic.

Video Game OSTober Day 5: Favorite character theme Every time the 'masked woman' appears in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, I forget to breathe, entranced by the beautiful and wrenching music theme Alicia.

Video Game OSTober Day 4: Favorite main theme/motif The beautiful Final Fantasy XV theme Somnus by Yoko Shimomura, which has several instrumental versions throughout the game, but I especially love the title version with vocals.

Video Game OSTober Day 7: Favorite night theme The Psychonauts overworld theme Stay out of the Moonlight by Peter McConnell somehow combines a chill outdoorsy vibe with Bond music twangs and a sense of foreboding.

Video Game OSTober Day 8: Favorite hub/overworld theme I think it's pretty special that the main and overworld theme of Final Fantasy VI is a character theme, Terra's Theme by Nobuo Uematsu. It's fitting how it blends a soaring soulful melody with a military march.
