Framed differently: most Americans use Google, check the weather, rely on GPS, etc etc and have no concept of WHERE that information comes from. It doesn’t just “happen”!

Many have been propagandized to think tech bros invented all this shit, when they've just built shiny front ends to data and tech that was built by the REAL scientists and engineers working for the US Federal Government.
