The Greens losing in the lower house is sad. It means the duopoly still holds its grip on the body politic. The criticisms just seem made up to me. "Blocked the HAFF"? Yeah, to build more houses instead of parking billions of dollars in an investment fund. It was literally a Utopia-style policy.

Look, I'm glad the Liberals got absolutely demolished, but it seems almost inevitable that Labor will keep the status quo. The billionaire class will have more assets and more power than ever. People's lives will get materially worse over time. Labor's incrementalism will be the end of us.

As people get desperate, they'll look for anything to blame. But you can only find the real culprits when you have the time and resources to do so. If you're choosing between medicine and meals, you're not exactly watching senate estimates in your spare time. So scapegoats fill that void.

Every Labor voter/friendlyjordies poster crowing and guffawing about Bandt’s loss who forgot that their party was so unpopular prior to the election minority gov looked likely, will be shocked and amazed at how well the right wing will do in 3 years running an anti-immigrant message.

The integrity of our electoral system and the strength of our institutions has protected us from the worst, but this cannot continue without consequences. We need real reform. Wealth inequality will be the end of our country if we do not stop it.
