Looking to connect with parents of children with challenging behaviours (PDA, physical aggression) who have managed to successfully find people to babysit or otherwise help with childcare, e.g watch one kid at home while you take the other out. How did you find them? How did it work initially? 🙏

I used to be an SEN teacher and a few of the kids I worked with were sometimes babysat(?) by some of the teaching assistants that had established relationships with them. or otherwise might be worth asking around SEN schools if there are any teaching assistants who do babysitting

it was quite common for TAs to work part time so were able / keen to do a bit extra here and there. but there's a bit of luck in the stars aligning as always :)

the other thing I've seen work (which I'm sure you know of already) is leaning on extended family members / family friends, but thats also tough of course or may be not available for different reasons!

We really would like to be able to go out from time to time and are willing to pay but don’t know how to find people willing to go through the long acclimation process that will be required for our eldest, and are equipped to safely deal with his aggression.

Please, please only reply if you have direct experience with this or you know someone that does. I appreciate you mean well, but suggestions that don’t come from direct experience on this topic aren’t helpful.
