There's a general sentiment that GitHub is a sinking ship, so I went ahead and set up Forgejo (forgejo.org) at work so we could get a feel for it. Deployed it on a Debian VPS as Podman "Quadlets" using Ansible and it's like a devops dream. Clean and declarative!

This is one of those posts which looks like made up technobabble to normal people. "Honey?? That owl is casting spells again!" Good job skipping gitlab entirely. The codebase for it is a dumpster fire and it really shows.

I thought I would try and drop tidbits of what I'm working on. It's important to make peace with the fact that not everything I do is going to interest all! Never really had trouble with Gitlab as a user, but Forgejo is lighter and the new hotness. And I was satisfied by Gitea in the past. ovo
