As someone who never really got into multiplayer, Duke 3D was perfect and I'm still so PO'd so few FPS followed in its "full interactivity" steps.

god, I miss those days... and then in 97 it became Jedi Knight vs. Quake 2. I may or may not have been a member of a forum that existed purely to debate which was better. for my money, Duke and JK all day.

Between the two, I definitely enjoy Duke more. Quake has a lot of mechanics I'm justnot good at, like rocket jumping and ramp surfing. I know they're not required in single player, but they're all pretty mandatory if you play multiplayer.

Duke is better for single player, Quake for multiplayer. Both had great monsters

It didn't matter which was better because I just played them both. What a great time to be into PC gaming!
