Since I unexpectedly had the morning off, I decided to do my civic duty and vote. Line was the longest I'd seen, stretching outside the building, off the sidewalk and into the street. Despite this, the volunteers had things running like a well-oiled machine

And even with a tech issue with the printer on my voting booth I was in and out in under half an hour. Bonus: Apparently the new apartment I moved into before summer is within Taylor Rehmet's district. So I got to vote for him instead of just supporting him.

Two things I found interesting. 1. The line wasn't all retirees. It was a range of ages. 2. One of the local Republican candidates was there at the boundary where promotional signs are prohibited. He was calling out to people asking them to vote for him, which wasn't that odd.

The odd part was him being accompanied by a young lady in cowboy boots and a short skirt. It was hard to hear him, however, as the car he was standing by was blaring Tears for Fears' "Everybody Wants To Rule The World." So yeah... I'd say Texas GOP is cooked.
