I’m excited to see this happen, as this is the one remaining thing with custom highlights that I found missing. Thanks for working on this!

I've been thinking whether we could add additional styling for `::highlight()`. Currently it's limited to color, bg-color, text decoration, shadow, stroke. A common use case is a "pill" shape with border/radius. That could still be done without layout shifts perhaps? Though padding may be an issue
