A post on that other site inspired me to make a new safety tool. By default, Discord enables the "Use External Apps" permission for EVERYONE. I'm willing to bet that most servers don't even know that they're at risk. Audit your servers. Remove this dangerous permission. sery.bot/discordaudit/

I have personally been on the other side of an attack that used this method. It was not fun to track down. Because it used an app to post, you can't just right click and ban the app. It's not an option. In that moment, you have no idea how posts are getting in. Discord failed us on this one.

I had to deal with this exact attack a few weeks ago and it took a solid 10 minutes to triage and fix. Already removed the perms on that server but this is gonna help so many of my friends servers, thank you so much!
