I guess I fall under that umbrella too 😅 For building software in general, not just this specific field.

The existence of these projects doesn't deter us from doing them properly, but we've witnessed first-hand how they can demotivate a developer who was in the middle of creating a project that checks all the boxes of the quality standards that are expected by the public.

But like, are we able to just willingly accept freaking broken projects that are just, just unbearable codebases, same with their mere existence... When it's known that their care is non existent, same to the quality that is known being beyond the bottom, and it somehow receives bells and whistles?

Not to mention, the audacity to create absolute quick massive slop that just discourage projects, developers. Crafting software requires a GIGANTIC load of patience and commitment to it. And like, for what they do it, really? Not even real passion, I really don't understand their mindsets at all.

Some do it for the bragging rights (social points). Some do it just for themselves, and happen to share it. Some do it just to see if they can. It depends on the individual; the biggest problem are these influencers and social folks. They spread the crap like second coming of Jesus.

That's exactly part of the problem, right? People who don't have the will to learn how to do the task properly are using AI as a shortcut to get there. Kind of like cheating on an exam by learning the test answers instead of the material. Wouldn't learn anything from there.
