I do really like this change But also it feels funny because the issue of having to break topics up into multi-post threads where it can be easy to miss broader context if you don't notice it's a thread is one where I feel like the question arises as to why we even have character limits

I dunno why the concept of the "Read More" hasn't been made default functionality at this point is what I'm asking Keep your limited visible character count limit for timeline aesthetics, I get why these platforms want to hold to that vibe. Just let us yap more on the same post rather than fragment
