I really don't think we talk enough about how the whole "Tracing art" debacle has basically poisoned the art newbie well enough that people getting into it are either too scared to admit they may be doing it to learn, or, and this is what happened to me for years now,

straight up quit because they're terrified anything they do, tracing or not, will be seen as tracing forever, and either get flung into the AI cult or straight up just stop trying to learn all together because the bar got set high on everything else by proxy into "Be perfect magically, or quit."

Like I'm still a budding artist, but holy fuck I wish more established artists would talk about this being okay and actually encouraging people learning either that way, or giving avenues to learn outright publicly. Like, talk about your process, mention that industries ask you to replicate

Hell, straight up admit you learned by following another's style and encourage the other artist you learned from to also be like "Oh yo that's awesome!" Don't just gatekeep so bad that you've basically enabled this AI slop shit to flourish unchecked.
