Deployed a huge update for a client yesterday that re-writes their frontend to use Inertia + Rails. After working with Inertia the past couple of months, it's really been growing on me.

What was the prior frontend setup? I am currently working on a project doing basically the opposite migtation (Vue + Rails API to Hotwire + Ruby components) ... but Inertia seems interesting to me as it strikes a middle ground.

They were using React + Rails API endpoints for some chat functionality and normal Rails + Hotwire for the other views. I think Inertia strikes a great balance and can render Inertia components or normal Rails views from the controller so feels really familiar.
