can't agree with this one and I'm close to 1:1 on your opinions it's not "a good game in spite of the awful monetization" it's a bad game because of the monetization there's no compromise on this stuff, same way it was with loot boxes, it taints *everything*

No way am I ever gonna play a gacha Destiny. But I suspect they know that and just want to cash in on the mobile market. I hope it's not another "don't you have mobile phones?!?" moment, but it sure looks that way.

I dreamt about games like this and Genshin when I got my first smart phone. I thought maybe one day it will be possible. Now that it is, it's filled with predatory practices and gamers keep rewarding it.

Unfortunately I am already consumed by Honkai Stair rail and Zenless Zone Zero when it comes to gacha games. I unfortunately smell a bad economy in this game that's going to start reasonable to hook players on the fun gameplay. Then will become miserable to keep up with. I wish players the best.

That's my biggest issue with a lot of gacha games. The developers such as miHoYo are incredibly competent and could've become the next Platinum games if they wanted, but instead they choose to earn near infinite money selling gacha shit. Which, while understandable, is still disappointing.

I'm aware. Still not gonna stop me from making petty jokes about it. He should make Austin review it, considering all the other MMO/live service reviews he's done the past year.

Even if it's a great game, most people, including myself have no interest in it because A) it's a mobile game, and B) it's a gacha game. I wish more companies would put these talents behind products that would actually interest the consumer, instead of just trying to cash in on the whales.😮‍💨

Always online looter shooter genre will never be same for me after Weight gate situation which was unintentional 😏 but looter shooter gacha with possibility of Weightgate repeating itself seem like a perfect storm which is no go . I hope bungie devs adapt good ideas from D Rising to d2. Thankyou

Sadly reminds me of Diablo Immortal. A really good feeling Diablo game rendered unplayable by the insane monetization.

I seem to remember a similar thing happening with the mobile version of apex legends, where it was actually *more* complete than the main game in terms of modes and characters. Someone needs to bring these devs over to the PC/console space!

I spend 100 dollars in destiny for an expansion that lasts a year. I dropped a couple hundred on Furina because I lossed the 50/50, then stopped playing because WuWa came out. Glad I got Furina, just a shame I don’t play it as much anymore especially what with it taking so much space in the drive.

Honestly, I think it's cool that it exists but as a long time player obviously this is missing the heart and soul of what Destiny was for me. A place where all my friends would log in and play together. There's just never a future where all my 35+ dad buds are sitting around on our phones lol

3 subscriptions is crazy. I play ZZZ and even then the monetization is at the upper limit of acceptable for me.

I feel the same way whenever a hoyoverse game comes out.

Warlocks have scythes in this game. I bet Hunters are disappointed.

It is inevitable that more big franchises will launch gacha games. It is a sad reality but take comfort in knowing that great games are being made regularly. They just don't have the same marketing push that "AAA" games do. It's all part of the cycle.

This is a great video, Makes me want to cry with the state of free 2 play these days. BUT money talks and I cant think of away around that. My main want from this is no time getting like ZZZ and a PC port.h

Destiny is already quite a grindy game, so adding gatcha mechanics seems to have pushed this over the edge more! 😔
