Quick side note: In the game's Steam properties you can now select version 1.2.1, an old build preferred by speedrunners, under Game Branches and Betas! I'm testing this out now because I also plan on making the current version a legacy build when the big Hard Mode update drops

(though if you do revert the game to an older build, I would probably recommend manually backing up your save files from the game's install folder and playing on a new file rather than trying to load one from a later build, just to be safe)
