Game devs, can you recommend people or places I can find good pixel artists for animated sprites and backgrounds for a retro-game I'm working on? I have things working, I'm serious about the project, and it's time to start replacing the placeholder work. I'd rather work with people than AI. #gamedev

I like your work! The isometric models look cool - I am speaking with an artist currently for this project, but keeping note of the responses here for the future :)

Are you able to do 16-bit style pixel art for a space-themed shmup? Weve been looking for a pixel artist or two to help us finish our game, Buzz Kill Zero: Version B, including endings. We have gameplay of it on our page if you want to check it out!

What kind of retro style are you going for and are you looking for one artist to handle both the sprites and backgrounds?

An underwater Art Deco world with steampunk elements sounds like such a cool direction! 🌊 Id love to hear more about Enraptured and the kind of atmosphere you want the final art to bring to it. Are you open to seeing my work?

Thanks Helen, I am speaking with an artist about this project now, but will follow you and may need more help in the future!

I do a pixel art and here’s my work examples.

A little pixel character in motion! #PixelArt #SpriteSheet #GameArt #PixelArtist #IndieGameDev

Totally understand! By the way, is there anything you're still unsure about before making a final decision, or are you just discussing the details with the artist at the moment?

Thanks, I am currently speaking with an artist for this project. I will keep you in mind if things change!

Cool, it's a combination of art deco and steampunk style, mostly a fast scrolling platformer, with side scrolling shoot-em-up sections. All set underwater (Bioshock demake basically). The platform has weird colour resolution compared to pixel resolution so scrolling sections 1-bit, static colour.

I can put mood boards together maybe? Feel free to msg your contact details if interested - you can see some of the screens on my account - the "Enraptured" game; I'm using placeholder gfx for all the game mechanic testing currently, but really want to get some aesthetics in there. Do you use Tiled?

Thank you to everyone for replying. It’s great to see there is a lot of talent out there for pixel art games!

I do custom digital art and would love to discuss helping with the games' visuals..!! btw are you imagining a side scrolling or top down style also what kind of movement or poses do you need for the animated sprites??

Hey there - it's a mixture of platformer and shooter, side-on views for the majority of the game. I am currently speaking with an artist, but thanks for contacting me. I am keeping notes on the artists i this thread for the future.

The bots got you bad lol Are you going for that grimy, decaying Rapture kinda atmosphere or something more colorful and weird with the underwater world?

Yep, it's hopefully going to capture the aesthetic, but in a retro way. It'll definitely be wierd :) I am speaking with an artist now.
