Oral exams are underway for admission to the Normale. Every year, students from across Italy come to Pisa and Florence for a selection process which is also a moment of genuine dialogue, where critical thinking and reasoning matter as much as knowledge. Good luck to everyone!

This is really a dialogue! Two years ago I met a member of the examining committee at my admission interview. I didn't recognize him, but he remembered me, about four decades after the fact. (I still remember the questions!)
