Cautiously optimistic. He said many of the right things today, and his line "when you're climbing the ladder of success in life, sometimes they forget to tell you to stop when you're happy" is an all-time quote.
But there's a reason why coaches rarely are hired twice for the same job. (1/2)
He learned a lot of hard coaching lessons at Nebraska. And there were a lot of stories about his tenure that should be cause for conncern. If he has his head in the right place, he'll be great.
If not, Terry Mohajir will also be looking for a new job.
I'm fine with it provided he keeps his nose clean. I understand why he left, just the way he left will always leave a sour taste and why I'm not as enthusiastic right now as some.
I’m with Adam 1000%. If TM fully vetted the 2024 version of Frost and thinks this is the best hire for us within our budget, I’m OK with it. Eye-opening that our lower P4 opening didn’t seem to be as attractive as when we were hiring as upper G5.
It's a fair point and hopefully something Terry asked him about. The reality is that it is hard to know exactly what is true and what is rumor, but there are enough stories that UCF needed to do some diligence
I like it. Even though we're now in a power conference, we're still a young scrappy underdog compared to the programs with more resources. I think Frost understands that and is hungry like the fan base.
Will it work out? He stands just a good of chance as the other names that were floated.
Yeah, but the contract is too hefty with a ball and chain buyout. Frost wasn’t in consideration for a single other HC job, and we had so much more leverage but we wasted it.
Great hire. He never wanted to leave but momma called! Everyone that was sad to see him leave better be happy he is back, he will give 💯. And don't play the 'game is different card' because every coach has to deal with that at all levels. It is where we are at in '24 #WaWa
I think he’s the one coach would ever be able to match our fan’s passion. He wants UCF to succeed as much as we do, and will build the right culture. It will take time for that to translate into wins, but it will.
We have some good pieces on our coaching staff and I hope keeps some of them around.
Just posted about it. Correct pick? Not sure. I am a UCF fan first and foremost. I support our team and will regardless of who the coach is. Seems like a lot of the players are fired up about it so I will defer to them. It's their locker room. #ChargeOn
I don't think any other option would be able to give more of himself to the team. It feels like he thinks he owes us and in some ways he definitely does. If anyone can right this ship, he can. I feel like it helps in boosting and recruiting locally. It's either a huge boom or huge bust. I like it.
