Yesterday's court decision didn't end the fight over birthright citizenship. It made one thing unmistakably clear: Trump and his allies are not giving up. This has never been just about immigration. It's about who gets to decide who counts as an American. open.substack.com/pub/adamkinz...

open.substack.comWhy Trump Won't Stop Until He Ends Birthright CitizenshipThe pattern is always the same: wrap bigotry in legal language and claim you’re protecting “real Americans.”

I look at this as similar to the 2nd amendment. It is clear that the constitution ensures the right to bear arms. It is also clear that the constitution grants birthright citizenship. Both amendments need reform in the form of one or more new amendments.

Tourism births need to stop. Period. Here on a vistor's visa? Your kid doesn't get citizenship. Similarly, but somewhat more problematic, births to people without legal status in the country. The 14th has run it's course.

How many tourism births are there? How many Americans go to other countries for birth? And who the fuck cares!!!! This is one huge planet. That WE ALL SHARE. That WE ARE ALL BORN ON.

There's a whole industry in the San Gabriel valley east of Los Angeles that makes money off of Chinese tourism births. Most other countries that Americans might want to have child citizenship don't offer birthright citizenship, so none? We are one planet, but you can't go live in Australia.
