Because the "Healthcare" system in America is a profit driving thing. Insurance companies are more interested in limiting care than giving care. It's cheaper to not vaccinate and deny care to the sick and dieing, than to vaccinate and treat the sick.

I live in Ecuador and while the health care system was badly damaged by the COVID pandemic, in the last 10 years it has saved my life 4 times including radical cancer surgery last year. My premiums are $82 per month. Dr’s here do not drive Mercedes-Benz.

I am a small business owner. No one talks about premiums rising as you age on top of steep increases. I started my business 10 years ago and we now pay almost 4 TIMES the premium for the same high deductible policy. My policy alone is about 1.5 times what I paid for a family of 4. Nuts!
