I think it'd feel longer if there was more major releases to play on it.

having worked at a gamestop on ps5 launch day that timeframe is weird to think about too.

I don’t think it would feel as short if it didn’t feel like it took till 2023 for actual exclusives to come out. Sure cross gen releases are nice, but when half of the “must play” PS5 games are also on PS4 of course the generation will feel shorter. Then we have Xbox…

Part of this is also the jump in generations is so much less noticeable now

wild, id heard its due to memory, your brain stops treating every day as COMPLETELY NEW INFORMATION the older you get so the time you "account" for becomes less n less

Wait since when was the ps6 potentially announced??

For me hearing about the PS6 is crazy because it feels wholly unnecessary. Most companies don't have an efficient workflow for the PS5. Paying 1000+ bucks potentially for 10 or 15% more fidelity in the living room isn't worth imo.

The “waiting forever” feeling will now be provided by the need for kids to spend years saving up $1200 for the console. 😐

Got off the treadmill and went PC for exactly this reason.
