Important ICC meeting today on IRC expansion to four units, 3-5 p.m. ET (teams.microsoft.com/meet/2522314...). Jeff Shapiro is presenting his proposal (admin.centerforbuilding.org/wp-content/u...), which will likely be the basis for a change. Attend if you can, speak up with comments/questions

Two structural points (which we also raised on RB1): 1. IRC assumptions are based on old house configs. FEMA-ATC is currently studying extrapolation to larger spans, etc. 2. Proposal needs to be clear that it does NOT apply to EXISTING 3-4 unit buildings, which might be highly deficient. (Also ...

(Also, it's odd to refer to a 3- or 4-family building as a "dwelling," since "dwelling" is DEFINED to have just 1 or 2 units. Surely Jeff knows this ...)
