It's wild how people can know opportunity is primarily determined by privilege but still struggle to shake the idea that people in positions of power must somehow be there in part because they know stuff lol, we need more and more tech documentaries to demonstrate that no, that's not the case

I've seen it in my own career, one (relatively short lived) job multiplying the opportunities I was getting because I'd been legitimised by a company folk rated for whatever reason, people are extremely susceptible to that kind of thinking
