📚📚📚 The last few weeks have been both interesting and stressful. I was launching Re:Claim just as the story broke out Cornell and it left me in a strange place 🧵

📚📚📚 How do you promote a book about institutional silence on SA along with questions of who gets to tell the story and how when the very topic enters the news cycle.

📚📚📚 You do not want to seem exploitative and yet all my messaging started to feel that way. My anger at what was happening (and probably a similar anger that drove to the book on the first place) didn't feel right

📚📚📚 There is much joy in Re:Claim because Inwajted my "victims" to refused to be defined by their aggressors. But somewhere along the way of marketing, I lost sight of that.

📚📚📚 So to those of you who may feel too much of this feed has become overly political vs. the usual chaos, I apologize.

📚📚📚 I believe joy is a form of resistance and I had lost touch of that joy.

📚📚📚 I want to thank those of you who are still standing by me besides my flaws.

📚📚📚 Now was there any inciting event for this thread, you may wonder? And the truth is no... Unless you count my own overactive brain starting to feel guilty and scared about how to promote Re:Claim
