Some people code to please users. They will not mind being agent controllers. I code to please maintainers. I will mind very much. Even worse will be becoming a reviewer of agentic code. I’m fucked.

Agree. This is the kind of thing you have to learn to value from being responsible for running and maintaining software for some extended time, I believe. And I've been fixing Ai slop bugs other people committed all day so I am a little cranky.

In ten years, tokens will be as expensive as people, and software designers will become attractive again. But then I’ll be retired.
