The level of incompetence on display is hilarious to be honest! He's using tons to avoid the comparisons to US diesel consumption (as of the latest EIA numbers I could find, 2.94 million barrels/day) when the November figures amount to ~.12 million barrels/day, or about 4%, but then sold globally.

Its a quite small figure even as Isaias hits gulf refineries' production levels and Iran keeps ramping up attacking on tankers near Hormuz and Ansarallah hits the Saudis. All to try and avoid the things that would actually help: serious concessions to Iran and stopping Saudi intervention in Yemen
