Does this fix the blurriness of fonts rendered for non-standard resolutions (eg 1440p) or is that caused by a lack of subpixel anti aliasing?

I doubt this fixes the former based on the content of the blog post. In another life, I was deeply concerned about the latter, and it used to be a setting on macOS - you might get lucky and use a “defaults” invocation to flip the setting on, it was removed from the UI some years ago.
