GM Tip: Shorter, consistent sessions often work better than marathon games. 2-4 hours keeps energy high, fits schedules, and is easier to prep for. Players remember tight sessions more than exhausted eight-hour slogs. #ttrpg #rpg #dnd #gaming

My players being inconsistently late works against tight schedules. (It's like their lives matter more than their PCs.😏) My current solution is serving a meal an hour before the game. It's hard on my partner, but improves attendance.

Having run a series of one-shots, I am finding a greater appreciation for scenarios that have a tight narrative with a beginning, middle and - most importantly - end.

The gang converged on my place for Memorial Day Weekend. They were totally shot from the various drives. I suggested everyone roll up a throw away character, or pick a computer generated one, and play The Brain Dead campaign. Longest session ever. Internal party war during external. Anything goes.
