Question for women / trans / non-binary people only: Have you ever gone to a conference where you didn't know anyone AND weren't a sponsor or a speaker? If you haven't, would you? (Sorry, cis men. I'm going to go ahead and take a wild guess that you would have minimal reservations about this.)

Yes, but only cause I won a free ticket. But it was terrible not knowing anyone and very difficult for me to meet people.

That sounds like a not fun experience. I find myself kinda wishing conferences would hold a pre-conference get together for women/trans/NB folks to meet and find a buddy before it starts. Like a little tea and cookies meet-and-greet before the opening night reception. Just so you have _someone_
