How do I teach bsky algo to favor technical content? Is it just about liking, reposting, and using "Show more like this"? I'm not super interested in politics, "bsky is better than x", or "look at my cute pet" type of posts 😅

I gave up on the ”Discover” feed completely (unpinned it) and spent some time following lots of folks that post about interesting techy stuff and now using ”Popular With Friends” and ”Latest From Follows” feeds, as well as a couple of specialized lists & feeds (mine and others’)

Not sure if you can see this, but made a list that tries to provide interesting stuff from programming & tech industry ”some hacker news, verge, techmeme etc”. Have it pinned to home. Not entirely happy with it but it’s good enough that I do look at it sometimes bsky.app/profile/did:...

a few updates on this investigation — no huge surprises; we have some work to do on how Discover processes “show less” and on selecting better initial output when it doesn’t have enough signal about what you like
