Really don't think it's fair to reduce Notion to "a genAI notepad." I use Notion extensively for project and knowledge management without touching AI, even indirectly. Nothing this dev mentions about Notion here necessarily implicates AI usage, simply organization.

I'm as hardline anti-GenAI as anyone but if we're flagging devs for simply using AI-capable products ... idk man.

A step waaaaaaaaay too far. I ditched adding notion to my workflow because of all the AI they were shoving -- went obsidian instead since I could beat it into what I want that I wasn't already doing in scrivener -- but not every notion user should be counted as pro-AI. yikes.

Yeah, Notion was a project management tool for a decade before anyone slapped AI features onto it.

Yeah, I'm all for calling people out for using AI, but these days it's difficult to find modern tools and software that don't incorporate AI features without going back to the stone age Thankfully, Notion and some others make it super easy to just never engage with the AI components at all

If you really want, Notion will even disable AI in your workspace on request. They push AI like crazy but it's very decoupled from the core product.
