Cloudflare has made NodeJS compatibility a default behaviour, and this is a bad thing. developers.cloudflare.com/changelog/po... One of the outstanding features of Cloudflare Workers was their adherence to Web Standard APIs, aka WinterTC/TC39, guaranteeing portability.

developers.cloudflare.comNode.js compatibility is now enabled by defaultWorkers with a compatibility date of 2026-08-04 or later enable Node.js compatibility by default.

With NodeJS compatibility on by default, I fear more developers will unwittingly ship Node-dependent code. Leading to heavier and more bloated payloads and far less portability.
