Remembering John Peel, who died on this day in 2004. From The Smiths to The White Stripes, his legendary BBC sessions introduced generations to extraordinary music. Few broadcasters ever had an ear quite like his.

Still reminisce about listening to the Peel Sessions on Radio One. Late into the night, up to the point its FM frequency shut down for the night. Joy Division were particularly atrocious!
