Post

Thrilled for her! And congrats to the US Women’s Hockey Team. It was a great game!

You're very welcome :)) Same. It's heartwarming <3 :))

And shout out to Oakland and the East Bay where I live. She appreciates her roots.

And I love that her outfit was all gold. A little foreshadowing? Or sending a message to the other skaters?

Way to go!

❤️

I know I’m a little shallow but wow is she gorgeous!!!

Full on sight steal. This is a disgrace to the sport.

Alysa Liu is a wonder to watch! She is so graceful and happy, she exudes joy. She SO deserves this gold!

Love her spunk ! She was wonderful .

Great performance, contagious personality and excellent sportswomanship! Congratulations to her!

She is awesome. I read like her. She is so CUTE! Beautiful yes, but she is like Teddy Bear cuddly cute. So much talent and dedication. She deserves that Gold Medal. Congratulations

She’s a national treasure

I love her, what a free spirit and she was such a joy to watch🥰

Oakland's own! Hey, after the Raiders, the Warriors and the As, we need it.

It seems at the last several Olympics, winter and summer, that it's the US women who won the bulk of the medals. Good for them!

She skates with such joy❣️

She skated from her SOUL not her ego ❤️ pure joy! 👏👏👏👏👏

She's the one skater that said she didn't care if she won that she was just skating for herself. It looked like it too. She was free. Good for her! Love it!

She was magical! So fun to watch on the ice and off. Amber had such a comeback today after her short I thought she might make the podium too but whatever, all of them were amazing 🤩

Thr “first U.S. woman”… Funny, we’re 🇺🇸 when the country has something to gain, but “illegal immigrants stealing jobs” otherwise.

Big Congrats to this great champion skater!

She was magnificent 👏👏👏

Fuckin-A right!

This would so cool if the US was still a country!

It was a beautiful performance, so well done, so happy for her💙

She is pure joy!

She jumped in the air, with ice skates on, when receiving her medal on the podium. It was a 10. Amazing! Congratulations 🎉🥇

Pure joy! I loved watching her skate. 😘

👏👏👏👏

She should get extra points for being joyful ❤️

And she’s such a cool young woman, YAY!❤️

So excited for her!! I screamed when I saw she won 🥇⛸️!!

Awesomeness Congratulations 🏆

Pure joy! 👑

Naturally!

Oh it’s a woman, winning again. Forget it🤷🏼‍♀️

It was such an enthusiastic, joyful skate

So Awesome!

Liu, is ICE going to let her enter the country?SAD.

What a great performance! And a standing ovation.

Congratulations Alysa Liu! 🇺🇸

Alysa Liu skated a heck of a long program! She deserved the Gold Medal! Congratulations to her and the other competitors.

They said that he had scored the French team 8points higher than the other judges, but he tended to give much higher scores than the other judges to everyone. I liked the French skaters more than the US, but I have no clue how to score.

Love her!!!!

👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

Both the others were way better

❤️❤️❤️ 🌹🌹🌹

Gaaah!

Yes but she didn’t get gold.

Had a massive crush on Michelle Kwan back in the day. I took her losing in 1998 harder then I should have lol.

It was such a pleasure to watch her on the ice, but maybe more importantly was what it was like to watch how she greeted, comforted, and jumped for joy with other skaters off the ice.

2002? Back in the 70s&80s the US was a force! Times have changed and Americans have more viewing choices

I have never seen anyone do anything with this much joy!

I kinda felt that way too.

Congrats!

Although I’m a hard “Boo” to all things Federal Government these days, thank God we have Olympic athletes giving us joy.

And she looked like she was having fun.

💝🌟💥‼️🎉 #AlysaLiu #Gold

It was fabulous and fun skate! Well done! Especially yelling at the live camera and mic,”That’s what I’m fuckin’ talking’ about!”

I absolutely LOVE HER SPIRIT! Congratulations for the beautiful year seeing you compete again and being rewarded with the Olympic Gold Medal!!!!🥇

So awesome💛💛💛

This is absolutely wonderful!👏👏❤️❤️

✨️💫✨️💫✨️

TOTALLY GORGEOUS!

Father is Chinese immigrant. A Trump America doesn’t count her medals as won by an American.

Such a beautiful skater! And I love her attitude. Congratulations Alysa! You are truly golden.

Thank you, Alysa. Something to be happy about or proud of is like gold dust in Nazimerica.

Pure joy

Hometown woman right there, skated at Oakland Ice Center!

This girl is Awesome 👏

She made it look so easy & she was having so much fun.

The Bay Area is doing quadruples 🤣

She's going up, up, up, it's her moment, look at Alysa, she's glowing, now that she's (now that she's) golden... 🥇 ❤️

It is good for Alysa Liu and our country

It all goes to show how diversity and immigration make America great. Her father was a Chinese dissident who escaped to the US in 1989 from the Tiananmen Square protest.

Good for her!

❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

She clearly was the best and another new hairdo like the Hamill 💇‍♀️

Alyssa Lou was phenomenal and care free in her routine. The joy she carried throughout was inspirational. Also the camaraderie was nice to watch.

Congrats! USA💪🇺🇸🗽

Beautiful ❤️❤️❤️

Amber Glen almost made the podium, a bad landing on the last jump was sad. She was forth, without that hand touching the ice, she would have made bronze. Congrats to both skaters, they were great to watch.

One of my favorite things about her performance is you can tell she passionate and feeling the music, happy to be competing at all. What a refreshing show of strength

Yes! Congrats to an amazing athlete!

Love her!!!!!

Liu came out of retirement in 2024. Two years later, at 20, she’s an Olympic champion. More on Liu's gold ⤵️ www.nytimes.com/athletic/705...

Liu secured the first gold medal since 2002, and first medal of any kind since 2006, for an American woman in figure skating.

Her outfit and hair added to her skating. It was amazing.

😺😺👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

There was so much joy in that ice house tonight. We have a gold medalist here who can respect and share joy with fellow athletes and those from other countries while still enjoying her own performance. She could be part of a new North Star in sports. Blessings to all the great performers!

first to win *gold since 2002. Sasha Cohen won silver in 2006.

Is that Sarah Hughes?

She skates with such joy❣️

Nancy Kerri3

Her armpit looks bruised, but that's pretty sweet lol

You gotta stay off the internet if you don't want spoilers. I hadn't watched the women's hockey...but - can't avoid comments.

Watched her medal-winning performance. She is so joyful.

Alysa rocks! If you didn’t see it, watch it tonight!

Pure awesomeness Congratulations 🎉🥇👑💪☮️💜🎶🎵

Wow, you’re right and I stand corrected - apologies 👁️👁️

🤔 I will look again

An absolute joy to watch.

Her performance was brilliant. She is so likable too.

She's got the AOC / Taylor Swift vibe. Most definitely DGAF about listening To guys with whose dick is bigger "brains".
