Prosperous parents helping their kids via credit scores: predictable. Nations and cultures failing due to a choice to promote massive, inflexible, un-recoverable income/wealth inequality: also predictable.

My credit score fluctuates with my spending REGARDLESS of whether I pay the balance in full. That makes no sense. Credit scores should remain unchanged (high) if you pay the balance in full, on time, without exception. It's a sign that there's little to no risk associated with your use of credit.

If credit scores were truly intended to be “neutral measures of financial reliability,” things like paying rent, having few or no credit cards, etc. would benefit a person’s score. This is not the case.
