The huge Post Office and Fujitsu injustice provokes Marina Hyde's deserved outrage. But she could have drawn a wider verdict. Multiply this scandal manyfold. Maternity deaths. Infected blood. Hillsborough. Grenfell. Windrush. Public inquiries. Lawyers enriched. Enough compensation? Noone jailed.

Every single person from the Post Office and Fujitsu with authority who knew what was going on needs to be jailed for at least a decade - maybe several decades. This needs swift and exemplary punishment - we need to set a precedent in Britain for this kind of excessive corporate wrongdoing

There is something beyond perverse in the derogation of executives from culpability generally. Even as things are very clearly wrong they keep quiet until they have no choice because, as often as not, somebody has leaked or thoroughly investigated what turns into a massive scandal.

Meanwhile and often thereafter massive bonuses are still paid. Then the severance payment. But the missing bit is the apology although we are served hot and cold running excuses that blame everybody else. Yet the innocent, the unemployed and the broken or dead get not a word of contrition.

So, the people who have had lives wrecked, some imprisoned and still the whole scandal rolls on in this case without closure. The former directors are sitting pretty, no doubt some of them in senior posts raking it in.

Until responsibility is apportioned to those who bear ultimate responsibility whether this post office horror or any other then the last remnants of feudalism that persist will be perpetual; the serf to blame even if he or she did nothing.

Where no one has been punished, not the directors of companies who knowingly lied about the fire retardant properties of cladding, not the administrators who ignored the many complaints from residents that the building would be unsafe in a fire. No one's fault that 72 people died

Agreed - but this time it has to end, or the public’s trust in our legal system (already low) will rapidly deteriorate. The “boss class” in both the Post Office and Fujitsu who knew what was going on will require many years in prison for what they have done to waste billions in public money.
