I really hope all the Farage haters get out and vote for him. Could be hilarious to see him ousted for this guy. It could end up a really close battle if it is basically ‘Farage’ on one side ‘Not Farage’ on the other.

There’s also the thing about “joke” candidates. They often have a lot more respect for the process than people might think. And if elected they actually take the responsibility given to them seriously. (ok - so it’s a small sample size - basically Hangus the monkey - but still).

A comedian ran in Iceland and became mayor. It's also a worthy reminder than Zelenskyj made a joke tv show about becoming president, and then he actually came president.

That is certainly how he was regarded by many at first (and still, by most.) And so, in some ways, was Zelensky, who modeled his run for president after his TV comedy role. People love political buffoons, even when they don't understand the implications. Boris Johnson, Farage, Mussolini, Hitler...
